Congratulations, Milwaukee, November winner of mein little German American Tour! All I can say is WOW! Your fans voted for you in droves! But I suppose it should come as no surprise, after all you are one of zee most German big cities in America. A city filled with German history, architecture, beer und bakeries. Plus, so much love for zee wurst! Und although I can’t wait to visit soon, it’s already a new month und time to start planning for mein next stop. So here are zee December nominees, friends. Check them out und vote when you’re done!

Birmingham, AL

You are well known for your strong jazz heritage, Talladega Superspeedway und Museum of Art. So what can I say? I’m ready to visit! But before I start humming “Sweet Home Alabama,” I need to know more!

Boulder, CO

Nestled in zee foothills of zee Rockies, you look like zee perfect place for me to visit. Plus, I would love to stroll zee Pearl Street Mall und do a little shopping at your famed Farmer’s Market. But I can’t come a yodeling to your town unless I know more about your fair city! So tell me more, Boulder!

Philadelphia, PA

Cheese steak, oh lovely cheese steak, I can’t wait to taste your wonders! But before I chow down at Geno’s or Pat’s, I’d love to know more about zee hidden jewels in zee City of Brotherly Love!

There you have it, zee December nominees for mein little German American Tour. When you vote for your favorite city, please be sure to include a few details und a photo of your favorite spot. Danke, friends!

little German American Tour – November Nominees

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

Oh Nashville, Music City, you were so good to me. I really enjoyed strolling along Broadway und zee sights und sounds of its many little Honky-Tonks. Und zee Grand Ole Opry, well, what can I say friends? That experience was nothing short of incredible! But now I’m ready to start thinking about mein next stop. So check out zee November nominees for mein tour und be sure to vote when you’re done!

Milwaukee, WI

Milwaukee, what’s not to love about a city that’s as German as you are? I have heard about your many “cheese heads” (und I LOVE cheese!) but I want to know more.

El Paso, TX

From an (almost) all-German city we go to zee “All-America City.” El Paso, you border zee beautiful Rio Grande und get more sunshine every year than any other city in America. Now tell us what else is special about you!

Atlanta, GA

Atlanta, your name may be synonymous with a certain bottle beverage, but all that may change soon if I get mein way! I’d love to check out one of your famous sports teams und zee world’s largest aquarium, but ell us about some of Hot-lanta’s best-kept secrets!

So there they are friends, zee nominees for November. When you vote for your top choice, please be sure to include a few details und a photo of your favorite spot. Thank you!

little German American Tour – September Nominees

Tuesday, September 7th, 2010

I must first thank you, friends, for sending me to zee South once again. Charleston was a wunderbar place und I especially enjoyed several samplings of zee she-crab soup. (It paired very well with mein Riesling, too!) Anyway, it’s time for a new round of cities. Here are zee September nominees for mein tour, be sure to vote when you’re done!

Anchorage, AK: Now this would be very different from zee South! Und any city with mountain views und seafood is superb in mein book. Plus I could use a break from zee crazy summer heat. But what else have you got, Anchorage?

Dallas, TX: I’ll admit, Dallas, I am slightly afraid of your city because I hear it is so BIG…BIG stadiums, BIG buildings, BIG hair. But then again, you are zee home of zee frozen margarita und I do enjoy one every now und again (shhh…don’t tell anyone!). Still, I’ll need a bit more enticement to make zee trip. Whatcha got, Tex?

Montpelier, VT: Montpelier, you are zee smallest of this month’s nominees, with a population of 8,000. Certainly a contrast to Dallas. But there is nothing wrong with small! So share with me what else you have in store?

P.S. Don’t forget to include a few details (und photo!) about your favorite spot when you submit your vote. Also, your comment, tip und photo will appear on mein site if your city is chosen. Thanks, friends!

So let’s take a look at zee August nominees for mein tour, und be sure to vote when you’re done!

Seattle, WA: I must admit, friends, I am very anxious to stand next to zee very large Space Needle! I’ve also heard good things about zee Pike Place Market und famous aquarium. But what other attractions does Seattle boast that might be of interest?

Charleston, SC: Oh, I am intrigued by your southern charm und beauty. Und also zee architecture, cuisine und beaches. But do you have anything that’s a little lesser-known for me to explore?

Zee Tour is About to Begin!

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Zee three candidate cities for zee first stop of zee little German American Tour have been announced! Zey are: Tampa, Florida; Louisville, Kentucky; und, New York, New York!

Ya, you know I can hardly wait to get back onto zee open road. For there is nothing I enjoy more than zee travel. Oh, zee people I meet! Oh, zee places I see! Und zee food – wunderbar! Zee only downside is choosing mein travel wardrobe. What is better for zee long plane trips, lederhosen or bundhosen do you think? Also, I hope I can find mein money belt. It can be so hard to find these things in my size, und I do not like to wear zee fanny pack. Nein!

Ah, well. Soon I shall have mein green felt hat blocked, mein feather fluffed, und I shall be on mein way! America – here I come!
